Terms of use

Effective August 20, 2026

HonorsUp is operated by an individual based in Redmond, Washington, United States. These terms are written to be read, not just agreed to. If any part is unclear, ask us through your messages and we will explain it.

Accepting these terms

By creating an account or using HonorsUp, you agree to these terms and to our privacy notice. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

Who can use HonorsUp

HonorsUp is intended for students age 13 and older. If you are under 18, you may use HonorsUp only with the involvement of a parent, guardian, or teacher, and by creating an account you confirm they permit it. We do not knowingly create accounts for children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, message us and we will remove it.

One account per person. You are responsible for keeping your password private and for activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has access.

Study service, not an official score

HonorsUp is a study aid. Practice questions, score estimates, saved history, and study plans may change or contain errors. A HonorsUp score estimate is not an official admissions score and is not a prediction of how you will do on test day.

We do not offer a score improvement guarantee. Nothing on this site is a promise of any particular score or result.

What HonorsUp costs

HonorsUp is currently free while it is in beta. We do not collect payment, and we do not ask for or store card details. There is no subscription, no trial that converts to a charge, and nothing that renews.

If we introduce paid plans later, we will publish the price and terms first, and you will be asked to agree to them and enter payment details before any charge. We will never convert an existing free account into a paid one without your explicit consent, and any recurring plan will disclose its renewal terms and how to cancel at the point of purchase.

Acceptable use

Do not attack, scrape, overload, resell, reverse engineer, automate requests against, or attempt to access another student's data or administrator features. Do not use HonorsUp to cheat on a real exam. Accounts may be suspended or closed to protect students, content, or service availability.

Our content

The HonorsUp question bank, explanations, software, and design belong to us. While your account is active we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use them for your own study. You may not republish, sell, or distribute HonorsUp questions or explanations, or use them to train a machine learning model.

What you write

You keep ownership of what you write — your messages to us, your coach questions, and your problem ratings. You give us permission to store and use them to run the service, answer you, and improve question quality. We do not sell them, publish them, or use them to train third-party AI models.

Educational content and reporting errors

Questions are checked before delivery, but mistakes are still possible. Report unclear or incorrect material through the problem-rating control or by messaging us, and we will review it.

AI study coach

Coach responses are generated by an AI model and can be incomplete or incorrect. Verify important reasoning against the supplied explanation. Because AI systems can produce unexpected, biased, or simply wrong output, you should not rely on the coach as your only source, and we are not liable for decisions made in reliance on it. Do not enter personal or sensitive information in coach messages.

Service changes and ending your access

HonorsUp is in active development. We may add, change, or remove features, and we may suspend or discontinue the service. You can stop using HonorsUp at any time and ask us to delete your account through your messages. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts the service or other students at risk.

No warranty

HonorsUp is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error free, or that content will be accurate.

Limits on liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or lost study time. Our total liability for any claim relating to HonorsUp is limited to the greater of $100 or the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in King County, Washington, and both you and we consent to that jurisdiction. We do not require arbitration, and nothing here prevents you from bringing a claim in small claims court.

Copyright complaints

If you believe material on HonorsUp infringes your copyright, message us with the work concerned, where it appears on the site, your contact details, and a statement that you believe the use is unauthorised. We will review and remove infringing material.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change materially affects your rights, we will tell you through the site or your messages before it takes effect. The effective date at the top of this page always reflects the current version, and continuing to use HonorsUp after a change means you accept it.

Non-affiliation

HonorsUp is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by College Board or Khan Academy. SAT® and PSAT/NMSQT® are registered trademarks of the College Board. Other marks belong to their respective owners, and their use here is for identification only.
